I do offer a free 15-minute phone consultation prior to scheduling a first appointment to help us determine if we may be a good fit to work together.

The therapy process varies from person to person. The frequency of sessions and overall length of therapy really depend on what you are seeking therapy for, the severity of the issue(s), how much you are able/willing to practice new skills outside of sessions, and whether or not additional concerns arise for you during the process. Life events and other circumstances can change the trajectory of therapy as well.
Typically, I prefer to meet with clients on a weekly basis when we’re first getting started. This helps us get to know one another and develop a clearer understanding of the goals you are working on. Developing a collaborative and trusting therapeutic relationship early on can help you reach your goals faster.
When you feel you are developing a better sense of how to implement new skills/tools on your own, we can meet every other week to give you more opportunities to practice new strategies and gain confidence in your abilities to manage life stressors.
Eventually, some clients choose to meet once every month or two in order check in, have some accountability, refresh and reinforce the skills you are practicing, and troubleshoot any challenges you may have faced. Ultimately, there is no “one-size-fits-all” solution to therapy, so we can adjust the frequency of therapy sessions to fit your needs, preferences, and schedule.

I do not currently accept insurance. Some insurance companies cover out-of-network providers. Please see this page for more information.

I am licensed in Florida and in Wisconsin, but I can now see clients in 40 states under the PSYPACT agreement. As long as you reside in one of the PSYPACT participating states, I can provide therapy services via telehealth. You can find the current list of PSYPACT participating states here: PSYPACT states.
Please note, even though appointments are conducted via telehealth, clients must be physically located in one of the active/approved PSYPACT states. If you are scheduled for an appointment but will be visiting a non-PSYPACT state at that time, please inform me as soon as possible so we can get that appointment rescheduled for you.

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based interventions in my work. Each type of therapy has been scientifically proven to be effective treatments for a wide variety of symptoms and problems. I also specialize in the treatment of trauma-related symptoms (including PTSD), and these treatments can also include exposure-based interventions, which can help clients safely overcome anxiety related to previous traumatic experiences.

Therapy delivered via telehealth has been shown to be just as effective as therapy provided in person. There are actually some benefits of telehealth appointments vs. face-to-face sessions: "Online Therapy Just as Effective as In-Person Sessions"
However, there may be cases in which telehealth may not be an ideal option. For example, if you are actively or chronically suicidal, you may need more intensive therapeutic intervention or hospitalization. In addition, I cannot see clients who are experiencing active psychosis, homicidal thoughts, or other issues that may require police involvement or other emergency interventions.
IF YOU ARE IN CRISIS, please call 911 or call/text 988 to reach the National Suicide Prevention Hotline.
